This past weekend Ricky and I went home to NC to enter the unfamiliar territory known as Babies R Us. I felt a little more comfortable since I read "Baby Bargains" from cover to cover. It gives reviews and suggestions on every product and brand you can think of. We also previewed some items at the Babies R Us in Charleston the weekend before. Ricky was in a college friend's wedding so we took advantage of our free time on Saturday and did some window shopping.
I'm sure we forgot a few things but I know friends and family will help me fill in anything I may have left off the list.
It was a long day, but I must say it was fun. Little girls have such cute clothes and accessories to choose from. Their outfits are trendier than mine! My mom and Ricky's mom both went with us and it was great to have their input.
I had my latest checkup on Thursday and everything went well. I passed the glucose test! Yeah! You have to drink this really sugary liquid, which wasn't as bad as I expected. It tasted just like Sunkist...maybe a little sweeter. Then I had my visit with my doctor - they checked my blood pressure, weight, belly measurement, and we listened to the baby's heart beat. After 1 hour, they prick your finger and test your blood sugar and glucose levels. Thank goodness mine were fine! If your levels are elevated, you have to go back for a 3 hour test. No thanks!
Here is a picture of Ricky and I at my mom's. He wanted to compare belly size...I think I've got him beat!
