20 Weeks - The baby moved...I think!

20 Weeks
How your baby's growing:Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.) He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

Last week I had some very subtle feelings in my uterus...well, below my stomach. I assumed they were in my uterus. But I couldn't figure out if it was the baby or gas or my uterus stretching. There's so much going on in my body right now, I have no idea what I'm feeling. Well, yesterday and today I noticed MORE feelings in my uterus. I can only assume it's the baby moving. Today it felt more like something rubbing or poking me, kind of like a bubble moving around. Hopefully these feelings will become more consistent. Then I will know for sure my little peanut is down there doing somersaults!

Notice the 2 pictures. Both of these pictures were taken this evening. Why do I look bigger in the sweater and smaller in the tank top? Weird...

Our ultrasound is Thursday morning. Pray the baby turns the right way so we can find out if we are having a boy or girl. Stay tuned!
